His case is to be placed on the Compassionate List, and I am most credibly informed by an influential gentleman that his case is a most pitiable and distressing, and his prostration such, from the effects of long and arduous service, that he is now unable to assist himself in the slightest degree.
"No situation of wretchedness is more poignantly felt than bright prospects blighted by disease", and on his merits, he has been highly educated and brought up under patronage of the Duke of Wellington, and I venture to commend him to your favourable sympathy.
